Dots, Dashes and Lines - The Art of Gond Painting

Step into the vibrant world of Gond Painting, one of India’s most treasured tribal art traditions. Originating from the Gond community of central India, this unique folk art is known for its bold lines, intricate patterns, and storytelling through nature, animals, and folklore. Each brushstroke carries not just beauty, but also meaning, often inspired by tales passed down through generations.
In this hands-on 2-hour workshop, participants will:
Learn about the Gond art.
Beleifs, Symbols, and storytelling
Practice creating patterns using dots, dashes, and lines—the signature style of Gond painting.
Technique, Style and Aesthetic

Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means “circle” - it is a visual representation used as a focus point for the practice of meditation. Mandalas are ancient, sacred symbols of wholeness and are used for facilitating personal growth, healing, grounding, and transformation.
In this workshop, you will create your mandala that gives you intention and focus as you tap into your creativity. Please come with an open heart and a willingness to let go. You'll have the freedom to unleash your creativity and personalize your mandala according to your unique style and preferences. From bold and bright colors to subtle pastel hues, the possibilities are endless!
