Grounded
Please Note: The Opening Reception is Rescheduled from Jan 8 to Jan 15, 4-7PM due to weather conditions.
Join Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) as we kick off 2026 with "Grounded," a landmark collaborative exhibition featuring thirty artists from the Colorado South Asian Artists Group (C-SAAG).
This dynamic showcase features approximately 70 works spanning painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, and mixed media. Explore a rich tapestry of culture, storytelling, and identity through the lens of Colorado's vibrant South Asian arts community.
Opening Night Highlights:
Live Kolam Installation: Witness C-SAAG founder Bala Thiagarajan perform a traditional South Indian Kolam drawing. Experience this grounding ritual of mindfulness and connection as she creates intricate, ephemeral patterns using rice powder.
Interactive Installation: Step into (and onto!) "To Rest Your Weary Soul", a full-scale interactive swing installation by artist Renluka Maharaj. Decorated with vines and flowers, this piece invites you to revisit childhood memories and find your own "safe space" within the gallery.
Meet the Artists: Many of the thirty exhibiting artists below will be in attendance to discuss their heritage, contemporary practices, and the inspiration behind their work.
